Origin: Uruguay Diet: Grain fed Characteristics: Cross breed between Hereford and Angus
In one of South America’s most beautiful countries, Uruguay, the old family business Pando is working on a line of exceptional beef products developed exclusively for Iberdeli: La Finca Imperial. Optimal conditions, years of experience and unconditional dedication create a series of beef products of absolute top quality. The cattle in this product line live on the vast grasslands (pampas) of Uruguay, known for their ideal composition for grazing. Important here is that the animals grow up with a space of at least 1 hectare per cow, and Uruguayan legislation enforces this. Finally, the animals go to the “feedlot,” where they are fed as many as 7 different diets of high-quality grains for 100 to 130 days. These diets, which include soy and corn, make the meat so especially flavorful and tender.
